Past experience has always shown me that once I have total certainty about what I truly want to achieve or experience, then everything begins to fall in to alignment for it to happen.
It is when I dilly-dally around, being unsure of things, even using that sort of language, “gosh I don’t know what I want”, that nothing happens. I flounder and lose all momentum. I once heard a colleague refer to it as “throwing spaghetti at a wall and seeing what sticks!”
However once that cog stops in the right spot and I have that absolute certainty about what it is I want and why I want it, then the magic happens. Not only do I take more action, but it seems that everyone else around me does as well! You take action and gain a healthy momentum as you make your way there.
It is not unlike putting the exact co-ordinates in to your GPS for directions, you know where you want to go and then take the most effective and efficient route to get getting there.
Back in October last year Grant and I made the decision, (with 100% certainty), that we wanted to buy a home by the ocean at Langs Beach. We didn’t quite know how that was going to happen, we just knew it was what we wanted.
We were on holiday at the time of the decision and whilst enjoying the lack of ‘noise’, both internally and externally, came up with some very compelling reasons why we wanted to do this. In fact we wrote them down.
The idea was a bit far fetched, however we talked about it for a few days on how we could make this happen, particularly financially. We were in the taxi our way home from Auckland airport and my words to Grant were, “well love if it means that we don’t travel for the next 12 months in order to save a bit, then so be it, we wont travel”.
The following morning as Grant was making my special extra strong coffee, I was opening the mail and came across an envelope with my name on it that initially I thought was a flyer or advertising material.
Reading the first line I concluded that yes it was a scam type sales pitch when the first line read, “Congratulations Mrs Unkovich you have won…”.
Curiosity took over as I continued to read the letter in full and then handed it to Grant asking for his opinion. He laughed out loud saying “this is for real, you have just won $8000 worth of travel!” I can still see his face as he continued, “well obviously God doesn’t want you to not travel over the next 12 months”.
Shocked, I too then began to laugh and felt this enormous sense of gratitude and peace, as I immediately knew that looking for this home was the right thing to do. We both had a deep sense of knowing that no matter what, we would always be taken care of.
This event was the first of many ‘co-incidences’ and ‘strokes of luck’ which enabled us to purchase our home 10 weeks later.
So thank you Nivea and Countdown…this week I am in the process of finalizing our dream trip to Croatia, Bosnia and Italy.
Have certainty about what you want and where you want to go in life, however most importantly, have certainty in ‘who’ you are.
Oh and by the way…enjoy the journey!
